Dioramas
This afternoon we had a fun technology/crafty session where we used a variety of materials to create a diorama or model. We had three choices based on our current events - a flood, a classroom, or space. The students chose to work individually, in pairs, or in threes. Look at what we've done!
We gathered supplies.
We measured and cut.
We used teamwork and compromising skills.
We had unique ideas.
We planned and shared ideas.

Cross Country
Room 12 have been training hard for weeks to prepare for the Tawa School Cross Country that was held on Tuseday. We were so proud of everyone that gave it a go and many students did their personal best. What a great effort Room 12!

Life in the Trenches
We have been learning a lot about what life was like in World War One, as well as how we commemorate and remember those who have served our country.
We have read the big book "Dawn Parade" by Philippa Werry, which is the story of a young boy going to his first dawn service. You can listen to it here:

We are gymnasts!
We have had an AMAZING time at Big Air Gym this term. It has been stunning to see how much progress we have made in our confidence, strength, coordination, balance, and general motor skills. The instructors at Big Air Gym have been fantastic, and they helped us to learn so much. Look at us go!

Big Air Gym
Every second Monday this term we have been walking to Bigair Gym. Room 12 has enjoyed learning how to use the different equipment and they have been practising their gymnastic skills. They have been practising things like balancing and flexibility while also learning new skills and increasing their fitness. The students are slowly being challenged which has been great for their confidence.

Graphs and Tally Charts Part 2
We have been working very hard in Room 12 over the last two weeks. We have been learning how to collect information and transfer information into graphs. This is so that we can make sense of the information around us. Today we decided to have a go at tallying M & M's and then we put the information that we had gathered into a bar graph.

Graphs and tally charts
We started this year off by doing our maths strand for the term, statistics. We've been learning to make bar graphs and pictographs, and reading graphs to find out information. We've been using phrases like "more than" and "less than" to help us understand the data in a graph.
We've graphed how many letters are in our names, what colour or pattern our sunhats are, and our eye colours. Can you see what eye colour is most common?
